Very nice post bro, Also look in John chapter 17.
In versus 6-12 Jesus prays to the Father for his disciples and in versus 13-26 he prays for all beleavers presant and in the future.
The following comes from the New King James Version
[glow=red,2,300]13"But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 "I have given them your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
15"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but you should keep them from the evil one.
16 "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
17 "Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
18 "As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.
19 "And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through thier word:
21 "that they may all be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may also be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.[/glow]
Here you can tell that in verse 14 you hear Jesus praying to the Father and telling him that he has given us the word of God. He states that the world hates us because we are not one with the world. If you remimber we are not to walk the path of the world, we are to walk in the path of Jesus as he states in versus 14-16. The one evil well who do you think that is?
In versus 20 and 21 he starts taking about the Trinity, stateing that he wants us to be one as they are and also to be one with them. Then you have the last part of verse 21 "that the world may believe that You sent Me." Well if I am not mistaking that is one of the core beliefes that make you a Christian. Here it sounds to me that a Christians duties are to read the lords word and spread it, try everyday to walk in the footsteps of Jesus the Christ and not of the world (the evil one).
On that point I turn you to
1 John chapter 2:15-17
[glow=red,2,300]15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 for all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.[/glow]
