I can see how this would be hard for some of you to talk about. Never the less look in 1 Corinthians chapters 7 and 13. That should get you rolling right along.

Ok, I know how moved Jason is to have people voice their opinions on this topic, so I will speak up.
I worked in a day care in Avon this summer to pull in what I could for later. And it was not long until I discovered that half the woment that worked at this particular center had or were in abusive relationships of some kind. One young woman I worked with was even placing a restraining order on her ex-fiance because he had tried to strangle her, told her he'd kill her if she left him, and then proceeded to send flowers and letters to day care center everyday, apologizing for his actions.
There was, however, one teacher that I worked under that I came to have great respect for. While I was there, she celebrated her first anniversary with her second husband--a preacher at an Indianapolis Baptist church. (The first having physically abused her while they were married.) But I remember her everyday giving council to those women at the day care that were not so fortunate in love. And there was no greater phrase that she would use than, "The only way you're ever gonna make it work is if you put God before yourselves."
I believed in those words of hers because I saw her happiness everyday as a sign of proof that God changed that valuable aspect of her life. He had shown her that if she and her husband together had faith in something greater than themselves, they could handle any situation because of that foundation. And I think that if everyone had that base in their lives, they might also find something more to build from.
Just a thought...

I thank you for giving me my "fix". Yes, I am happier. I do tend to agree with you. While I completely disagree with the Baptist Denomination, I am happy that the people you speak of and all the Baptist for that matter are focusing on the greater power. Another topic for you is... Why does Baptist celebrate Halloween in side the church when the basis of this Holliday is completely centered on the devil? Lets see if that gets any bites.

God should always be first in any relationship. I didn't do that with my last very much and ended up with my heart broken. I thank God every day for giving me the strenght to leave my x after 5 yrs. all he did was cheat and lie.
